The Waiting Game

This is the second of 4 articles on Avian Influenza and how you can protect yourself and your family.

If nature were left to her own devices, the virus would cause devastation among the avian species, but through manipulation and intervention, the promised pandemic will eventually hit the human species. The World Health Authority(WHO) have promised it, and therefore it is left in our hands to ready ourselves.

This points out the measures that all world governments intend to use to deal with any pandemic. In a nutshell, you’re on your own!

It is never my intention to cause fear and panic, as this is counter-productive, and likely to lower immune systems, and therefore make it more likely for any virus to take hold. However, the facts about bird flu symptoms and the truth about tamiflu needs to be exposed.

Once more it all leads back to Donald Rumsfeld of Aspartame fame, his seats on the boards of vast pharmaceutical companies, and even more revenue for his coffers.

So that you are sure that your illness is Avian Flu, here is a brief run-down of the symptoms:

Although the exact incubation period for bird flu in humans isn’t clear, illness seems to develop within one to five days of exposure to the virus. Sometimes the only indication of the disease is a relatively mild eye infection (conjunctivitis). But more often, signs and symptoms of bird flu resemble those of conventional influenza, including:

• Cough
• Fever
• Sore throat
• Muscle aches

People with the most virulent type of bird flu virus - H5N1 - may develop life-threatening complications, particularly viral pneumonia and acute respiratory distress, the most common cause of bird flu-related deaths.

According to latest reports several thousand people have been running fever in Birbhum district where the disease started from. While Health Minister Dr Suryakanta Mishra said the virus was under control his officers could not explain how so many people fell ill simultaneously from a single district. Dead Goats in Murshidabad West Bengal Cause Concern:

Reports of hundreds of goats dying have also come in from Murshidabad’s Khargram and Beldanga areas.

Although H5N1 has not been reported to infect goats, the broad host range seen to date suggests that goats could also serve as host. H5N1 has been found in dozens of wild and domestic bird species, as well as a host of mammalian species, including humans, swine, wild and domestic cats, dogs, foxes, stone marten, civet cats, and mice.

Some experts warned that if the H5N1 virus — which causes bird flu — has jumped from birds to mammals, it could be the turn of humans next.

Panic Next?

This points to panic. When someone you know catches the dis-ease, and perhaps dies, cats and dogs will have the finger pointed at them, and there will be calls from governments to euthenize (kill) our pets. If enough ‘experts’ back this idea it will be carried through.

Prescription Only

We have been told that Tamiflu will save us. This is grossly untrue, and another pharmaceutical fraud, but even if it was true, the drug can only be obtained on prescription, and we won’t be welcome at either doctor’s surgery or outpatients department. Who writes the prescription?

Pharmaceutical Fraud

The drug was developed by Gilead Sciences and is currently marketed by Hoffmann-La Roche (Roche) under the trade name Tamiflu. In Japan, it is marketed by Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., which is more than 50% owned by Roche. Donald Rumsfeld sits on the board of Gilead Sciences.

The Lancet Speaks

In an article published in The Lancet medical journal today, researchers from the Cochrane Vaccines Field in Rome and the University of Queensland in Australia warn against over-reliance on Tamiflu.

Focus should be on implementing quarantine measures and improving personal hygiene.

WHO Recommends

Yet, the World Health Organisation (WHO) is recommending governments stockpile Tamiflu even though the usefulness of the expensive measure is increasingly coming under criticism.

World Bank Promises Economic Chaos

According to the World Bank (WB),

the economic cost to the world’s economy of any pandemic could reach as much as US$ 800 billion and cause millions of dead.

Those That Know

LONDON — A Vietnamese doctor with experience in treating avian flu says Tamiflu, the drug being stockpiled for treatment of avian flue is useless against the virus. Dr. Nguyen Tuong Van of the Centre for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi has treated 41 victims of H5N1, following World Health Organization guidelines and administering Tamiflu to her patients.

She told the Sunday Times of London the medicine had no effect.

“We place no importance on using this drug on our patients,” she said. “Tamiflu is really only meant for treating ordinary type A flu. It was not designed to combat H5N1.

“The newspaper said the finding casts doubt on the British government’s pandemic flu policy. The nation’s top medical official, Sir Liam Donaldson, has ordered 15 million doses of Tamiflu be stockpiled. I have to ask what payroll he is on?

Van said

the only way to keep avian flu patients alive is to “support” all their vital organs — including the liver and kidneys — with modern technology like ventilators and dialysis machines, the Sunday Times reported.

Millions Needing Medical Intervention

The only way to keep an avian flu patient alive is to ventilate them and put them on kidney dialysis machines. How will this be possible for the millions who are said to be ready to catch this dis-ease? How will this happen when doctors and hospitals are overwhelmed, and don’t want the public within their walls.

The only answer that they have is: Go home and look after yourself, we can’t help you.
