I had a look at several answers, and some say the side-effects will eventually fade, just give it time. Some unfortunately are concerned about liver damage being permanent.

I think you need to do your own research or consult your physician again.

I was prescibed a statin drug to lower my cholesterol. I took this drug for about 3 months. The side effects have me now with bad leg cramps, I stopped taken the drug 5 days ago. Does anyone know how long will these cramps last?

The truth is that NO woman should ever be given Lipitor or any other statin drug for elevated cholesterol. There are no statin trials with even the slightest hint of a mortality benefit in women and women should be told so. In other words, statin drugs don’t work for women. No study has shown a significant reduction in mortality in women treated with statins. The University of British Columbia Therapeutics Initiative came to the same conclusion, with the finding that statins offer no benefit to women for prevention of heart disease.
