Kindly Doctors prescribe Statins

As I talk to people about alternative healing, they often tell me that their G.P. has prescribed ‘Statins’ which are meant to lower their high cholesterol levels.

They are usually very up-beat about the prospect of taking these drugs, assuring me that their G.P. has promised that there will be absolutely no side- effects, and that they can look forward to a healthier heart, and therefore a longer life.

Cheerful Naivete

Not being a medically trained practitioner, I cannot argue with this cheerful naivete in what their doctor has prescribed. I can only smile and wish them well with their chosen treatment.

Now I can plead the case for the prosecution.

The Case For The Prosecution

Here is the other side of the Statin story that you will never be told by your medical practitioner. This is your chance to find out the truth. Please don’t walk blindly into taking these drugs, on the say so of well-meaning men and women who are blithely, both ignoring the scientific evidence, and the evidence of their own experience.

$20 billion Dollar Propaganda Machine

I really hope that doctors are not being influenced by the $20 billion-a-year propaganda machine. I desperately want to find some integrity left in grass-roots medicine, but that can’t excuse this blatant lack of concern for the human body as a whole, and their oath, which is: “First do no harm,”

The Medical Model

The medical profession seems to be hypnotised by its dependence on the drug model. That is, treating every symptom independently, and as they come along.

Some Doctors Waking Up

If it is beginning to wake up, and there are a few doctors who show signs of having done so (see Dr.Mercola) , then we need to listen, and learn to take responsibility for our own well-being. This society takes it for granted that medical treatment will always be available, as society breaks down, this will not be the case.

Turn On Those Killer Genes

A new study has now been published that confirms that Statins turn on a gene that causes muscle damage. Muscle is actually destroyed when Statins are taken, the heart is a muscle, the heart is actually under attack by the very agent that is supposed to help it.

The Ubiquitous Statin

Tens of millions of Americans and Europeans now take Statins in order to lower their cholesterol levels, it does drug the cholesterol number lower, but as you see, it doesn’t guarantee that you will be healthier, fitter and live longer.

Causes Heart Failure

This study has found that Statins activate a gene signal in muscles called ‘atrogen-1′. When this gene activates it targets key muscle proteins for destruction. This is the gene found to activate heart failure. What possible gain could there be to activating this gene with a drug meant to keep the heart healthy?

Don’t Exercise And Take Statins

If you take Statins, and then exercise to keep fit, the chances of muscle damage are greater than if you remain physically inactive.

Muscle Aches And Pains Shows That The Drug Is Working

We cannot know the full figures, because doctors ignore the majority of muscle aches and pains reported by their patients who take Statins, only believing that the symptoms are worth considering when the problem becomes seriously debilitating.

Patients reporting muscle pain are told that this symptom has nothing to do with the drug…

Nothing Stands In The Way Of The Pharmaceutical Companies

The Statin industry is a money making machine, producing more yearly revenues from one class of drug than all the US professional sporting fixtures combined. As with any other money making machines, drugs included, negative studies are routinely ignored. The writers of any such study are then hounded and persecuted, which is why the world is still dependent on fossil fuels.

Government Funded ‘Educational Program’

In 2004 the US government funded a ‘National Cholesterol Educational Program’, selecting a panel of 9 experts to produce the guidelines for doctors to follow in reducing cardio-vascular dis-ease. The figures that were decided upon as optimum cholesterol blood levels, were seldom, if ever, achieved by healthy people without cardio-vascular dis-ease.

The government then published these figures in the marketing journal of the American Heart Association: ‘Circulation’. This, so called, scientific journal, failed to disclose that 6 of the 9 authors had direct financial ties to the makers of Statin drugs.

These abnormal cholesterol levels are now being pushed onto anyone over the age of …40. This boosted yearly Statin sales by 7 billion dollars.

Law Suits Now Filed

Class Action lawsuits have now been filed against Pfizer for illegal Lipitor (Statin) promotion.

Another Study Ignored

Yet another report from the Annals of Internal Medicine published their own study report in October 2006 after they had received all studies relating to cholesterol-lowering benefits by Statin drugs..Their conclusions:

Current clinical evidence does not demonstrate that titrating lipid therapy to achieve proposed LDL cholesterol levels is beneficial or safe.

The report was ignored, it didn’t even slow down the Statin marketing machine, or the way that doctors prescribe the drug.

The Patent Ran Out!

Time has passed, and to the horror of the Statin producing companies, they were about to lose their ‘golden goose’ . The patents have run out, generic drugs can now be lawfully produced very cheaply, and as predicted Lipitor sales fell by 25%. They needed to keep health insurance companies spending unnecessary money on useless drugs, and so the pharmaceutical companies became creative.

Merck and Schering -Plough joined forces to market a combination pill to compete with generic competition. This saw the market share jump to $5 billion dollars, all is now well in the board-rooms.

Many Other Side-Effects

There are many other side-effects of Statins, such as weakened immunity and cognitive decline, and these side-effects get worse the longer a person takes the drug!

These side-effects are blamed on ageing, and are so insidious, that the consumer doesn’t suspect the drug, and then the decline can’t be stopped. One more flu victim or Alzheimer statistic creates more consumers of different drugs and vaccines.

Prince Philip Wants De-population Of The World

Statins are convenient dugs to alleviate the ‘problem’ of people living too long. Pharmaceutical companies need to keep people consuming their products long enough to fill their coffers, but eventually the elderly must die…”well they’re old, they’ll die any way!”

Seniors Know Your Worth, Heal Yourselves

Until seniors have found their rightful and respected place in society, we can expect to see more and more wonder drugs being developed that undermine and remove those whose productive time is deemed to be over. We (because I am soon to become one) are called, “useless eaters!”

Am I missing something? I see from the caption that Prince Philip wants depopulation of the world, but I can’t see anything that even remotely supports that view.

thanks for another important article. As a homeopathic MD I totally agree with what you have to say. I spend most of my consultation time convincing my patients that most of their complaints are caused by the very medications they are taking.- This trend has increased dramatically over the the last two years….fear (as spread by the media) -levels are now reaching such heights that people are not able to listen anymore even to absorb info from orthodox sources like the article you mentioned about muscle damage…..mass hysteria triggered by the the Hidden Powers seems an ever more likely possibility in the future.
Like Dr Hamer (New Medicine) said Nature does not make mistakes….in the case of cholesterol it has already been proven (cholesterol myths by Uffe Ravnskov PhD) that in most people esp women cholesterol should be (what is now considered ) high.
Our heart muscle uses cholesterol as a energy source besides the usual glucose. It is probable that in heart disease (caused by stress, chlorinated water, environmental pollution etc) the body produces more cholesterol to support the heart

Hans,
Thank you for your comment and extra information, it’s great to know that I have someone on my side.

You think that chlorinated water may have something to do with heart disease? I’ll have a closer look at that, as although we don’t drink it, we can’t escape showers etc.

Are you one of those wonderful enlightened MDs, and do you have a web site? I hope that your homoeopathic practice isn’t threatened in any way.

Hi Terry,
I’ve spoken about him previously and I should have linked…but here are a few of Prince Philip’s quotes. He isn’t making any secret of his desire to cull the human race.

I hope these help.

“I just wonder what it would be like to be reincarnated in an animal whose species had been so reduced in numbers than it was in danger of extinction. What would be its feelings toward the human species whose population explosion had denied it somewhere to exist…. I must confess that I am tempted to ask for reincarnation as a particularly deadly virus.”
Prince Philip, in his Forward to If I Were an Animal; United Kingdom, Robin Clark Ltd., 1986.

“In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve overpopulation.”
Prince Philip, Reported by Deutsche Press Agentur (DPA), August, 1988.

“I don’t claim to have any special interest in natural history, but as a boy I was made aware of the annual fluctuations in the number of game animals and the need to adjust the ‘cull’ to the size of the surplus population.”
Preface to Down to Earth by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, 1988, p.|8.

Thank you Carol. Please be assured that you also have me on your side. I know from personal experience that if one is to spread the message then one must avail oneself as to what are considered facts otherwise people like my smirking brother will delight in exposing me as just another ‘conspiracy theorist’.

Hi Terry,

Calling someone a ‘conspiracy theorist’ is the ultimate and easiest put-down, and not really correct. It was probably devised by those Hidden Powers that most of us know exist, so that all those people who are hypnotized will point the finger at us ‘poor fools’, and we will be quiet.

In the end though, it doesn’t matter what other people think, there are many people who need and want to hear what is happening. We do it for them!

As hans says:
“mass hysteria triggered by the the Hidden Powers seems an ever more likely possibility in the future.”

and we need a coping strategy, and not that of the ’survivalists’ who want us to build an armoury and stock dried food in false walls. I intend to face the situation with dignity.

Learn as much as you can about caring for your own health, build up your immune system and confidence in yourself. Your brother may smirk, but remember, it is really fear that makes him do that. You can smile and know that you’re ready.

Thank you for taking the time to think.
Carol…

No study has shown a significant reduction in mortality in women treated with statins. The University of British Columbia Therapeutics Initiative came to the same conclusion, with the finding that statins offer no benefit to women for prevention of heart disease.

The truth is that NO woman should ever be given Lipitor or any other statin drug for elevated cholesterol.

There are no statin trials with even the slightest hint of a mortality benefit in women and women should be told so.

In other words, statin drugs don’t work for women.
